Liver Cancer on the riseThere has been a dramatic rise in the number of liver cancer cases in th last 9 years. An Office for National Statistics study shows the incidence of liver cancer in England increased by 70% for males and 60% for females between 2003 and 2012. They reckon a lot of this is down to our booze-laden culture Similar rises are recorded for skin cancer: malignant melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer, has increased by 78% among men and 48% among women between 2003 and 2012. This is put down to more of us being able to afford to go aborad for holidays. I guess the increase is sharper among men because they either dont wear sun cream and / or work outside more than women? Skin cancer is now the fifth most common cancer in England.
