Just a place to save random links to other sutff that might be interestng on the anti-cancer It's not really my style, but I came across this blog the other day: brys.wordpress.com/written by a breast cancer survivor with a queer-politics angle ... one thing that interested me about her comments is that mammograms are not a great way of detetecting cancer in young women .. .. MRIs are better .. but she suggests more money is spent on breast reconstruction than on good screening .. a puzzler in terms of where priorities lie .. she also made me smile with the idea that losing your breasts and hair is an instant step to butchification ...

Interesting. I haven't read it all but was refreshed by her comments on the assumption that women would naturally want a reconstruction. We don't necessarily need a slice of our stomach's removed and added to our chest to make us look feminine, and the complications that can arise from such a major procedure certainly don't make us *feel* feminine. Maybe I'm odd too - I quite like my 'flat' side, so do many other women. I might feel different if I'd had a double mastectomy though.

A few things written by Verne Verona, a proponent of macrobiotic eating and writer of a book called " Nature's Cancer Fighting Foods" which I have not read, but these articles are FREE and interesting: Immunity, Stress and Cancer Prevention
