I think you're right suze - these reports do encourage people to check themselves out, to be aware of what may be going awry with their bodies.

Did you see in the news that the NICE have rejected Avastin as a drug on the NHS .. They reckon it only extends life for a few weeks .. hmm, I was lucky enough to have it in my drug regime for both chemotherapies, and I'm still here, a very long six weeks it's been, and who can say which bit of the treatment is responsible for that? www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-11060968

my mum's had a few doses of avastin into her eye in the hope of regaining some of her sight ... it's not licensed for eyes but the Dr is a bit of a trailblazer, she's worried now she'll not get it any more too
