My pal sent me this link about carrots, it explains the myth about carrots building your night vision (it started as govt propaganda in WWII to conceal the fact that they'd developed technology to spot German bombers!!) but it IS true that carrots will give you Vitamin A and Lutein, and anti-oxident which increases pigment density in the macula, the oval-shaped yellow spot near the centre of the retina. This helps protect your retina, and lowers your risk of macular degeneration. So, in short, they cannot mend/improve your eyes, but they do contribute to good eye health! If you want to read the whole thing .. here's the link: carrot values

Nine foods you should never eat againNot 100% sure how "right" all of this is .. but it mostly chines in with everything else I have read. The only thing on here I was not already convinced of is the issue of soya products. He says soya beans are processed using a chemical called hexane, which is a petrol-based toxin ... hmm better make sure any soy products I buy are certified organic, as hexane is not permitted in organic manufacture.
