Sue yes i remember the big house. Hope your trip out with Rini went well,. Did Rini move to Ireland. just had to dash and check the back door was locked, I thought I heard a noise outside, I think its raining hard. Dads gone to bed with a migrane. We havnt been out today apart from Tesco, I seem to have been on the go most of the day, but when I come to analize it I can not see what Ive done. I do like Prince William and I hope he and Kate are very happy, something to look forward to next year with the wedding. Just noticed the internet signals gone red, just hope I manage to get this off to you.

Hiya
rini has moved to ireland, mostly, but still has that house here, rented out .. she might sell it, but she might continue to rent it out ..
we had a very interesting day ...
I could spit about the royals, but that's just me, I can't be doing with them ... !

With you on this one, I can't understand the general overexcitement. I particularly wonder about the bride's family being so happy ...surely it is they that are traditionally supposed to pay for the whole show. Whatever, it is all a big irrelevance to me.

Get away with yer. lets enjoy a bit off good news. Im not to keen on the main royal lot but I do like William and Harry they seem to take after their mother, rather than Charles. I just think it makes a nice change to have something good to think about instead of all this doom and gloom,

<sigh> you're not going to get me keen on them benefit scroungers, mum! Meanwhile I have been busy, out with Andy yesterday, we went to Cheshire Oaks where I bought nothing more than a headlight for B to wear when she is on her bike in the dark night We had lunch in Cafe Rouge then went to see a film in the afternoon .. which was a good way to avoid the bitingly cold winds .. made us warming jacket potatoes and salads etc for supper ... today I went to my french class in the morning, and then went on a shopping spree in Chester .. they had 25% off in Debenahams which yielded a short skirt and two pair of tight trousers .. which obviously then needed new tops to go with them .. mum you would DIE if you saw the bill for the tops ... <<eek>> might be hiding that receipt from Brigid too but at least they are different, and not like all the rest of the jumpers in the world .. I got them in All Saints .. I don't think I'm really their target audience, but they are good fabrics and quirky designs, so I fell for them .. oh well, it's only money, eh!

I'm not a fan of the Royals either, but I wish the couple well. Not looking forward to seeing wall to wall stuff on the tv.
Went down to Wells today, visited the museum and offered my services when I move down there - they seemed quite pleased. Then back home to organise daughter's hair and make-up for her big day. We haven't thought it through though - she will leave the house at 10.30am and there isn't much time for a hair updo and professional make up. Not sure how we are going to organise this. And I have to sew her a bolero to go over her scantily topped wedding dress. She also has to face possible redundancy in the New Year. It's all very dramatic in our house at the moment!
Working tomorrow,

Will you still be able to do your safety volunteering job when you move, guppy?
Sorry to hear minnie might be losing her job ... scarey times ..
This weekend we were relatively quiet and focussed on domestic stuff ... it is a bit weird having two homes, and not being here for two weeks (cos we went to Ireland last week) means the post builds up, and the laundry ..
next weekend we are in London to meet jean and jan, which I am excited about
this week I'm seeing Greg today .. will pop to Wales either tomorrow or Weds to see a former work colleague and thursday B's mum and Stretch are coming up so I have a good week planned ..
Jan says snow is forecast when we are in London, so hope we don't get too much!

Sounds like a hectic week for you Sue. Hope it's fun & not too tiring. ........ Yes Anne, sorry Minnie may loose her job. Sounds like you are quite busy also. hope it's not too stressful. .......... Been shopping today for boots & bits & bobs. But tomorrow is a full day as I am going to a funeral. Les's uncle i.e. Craig is going too. So as I say, it will take up quite a bit of time. Anyway, that's how things are. ......... Nothing else to report. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Yes, Minnie is a civil servant, so many of them will be losing their jobs during the coming year. Fingers crossed though.
No I won't be carrying on with my volunteering in Bristol because it's just too far to travel so that's a shame as I've been there for seven years and know all 70 or so of my colleagues, some slightly some more so. I'm not signing myself in for any sessions next term, will just slip away after the Christmas Party at the end of Term. There is a Childrens' Centre in Wells who may need help, and lots of other opportunities.
Sounds like a good week, suze, with a nice weekend coming up.
Good luck with the funeral tomorrow, Pauline.

Oh guppy, you will miss it ... it is like retiring ... tho you will be able to find something else nearer to your new home, 7 years and the familiarity of the colleaugues you have made is not a little thing to give up
I still haven't found myself any volunteerng, though I am keen to do something with children, we are not here in jan and feb, so I cannot do much at this time ... tho I could do thurdays if I keep coming over for my French lessons
then there is the constant threat of the next lot of treatment ... tho I ought to not let that stop me planning things, really ..

Well Anne I tend to agree with Sue on that issue. I thought the other day you might miss all those people you met over the years. But I hope you meet new ones & find new things to do. ........... And Sue, I don't know how you'll find the time for voluntary work, even without chemo, but I hope you find what you want. and working with children is very rewarding, isn't it. ..... Well I went to the funeral today. There were lovely things said about Les's uncle. Seems he did a lot of things in his life. He was 91 yrs old. Craig has now updated his family tree after meeting new people & the other changes of-course. He has also decided to visit an elderly couple distantly related, as they are quite frail. We actually gave them a lift so we realized how frail they are.
Well the funeral took up most of the day really. ........ Hope everyone feels well today.

Yes, I regret leaving my 'job' but I've learned a lot while working there, it's kept me in touch with a working environment, and I've met so many different children from contrasting schools and backgrounds. It's time to move on though .. I'm exploring the idea of becoming an 'Appropriate Adult' so if anyone has any comments, knowledge or opinions I'd be very interested.
Thankyou Pauline as well. Actually there is loads to do in Wells, it's full of opportunities and there is also Glastonbury nearby, which I'm very fond of. Lots of arty opportunities actually ..
Glad the funeral went well.
Did the Christmas shopping today, almost finished. We aim to get Christmas organised by the end of November because the week before Christmas itself will be busy with other stuff.

evening all ... sounds like a lot of job uncertainty around ... we're in the middle of a restructure ... my job has gone, 8 new posts have been created which I can apply for but there are no guarantees, they haven't ring fenced the posts to those of us affected, and anyway, there are more affected than there are jobs :s
It's not much fun and the uncertainty is the worst ... I feel for Minne, Anne, hopefully she'll find out soon if she is affected.

oh I'm sorry you have to re-apply for a post, Jane ... I could always tell your love your work, and your colleagues too. Fingers crossed for you.
Hopefully Minnie will be ok - edited
Enjoy yourself tomorrow suze. I'm curious though - who is Stretch?
