I'm colly-wobbling on behalf of both of you! Today I took three Year 6 children around our safety centre for a couple of hours, they were brilliant - very intelligent but still quite young and cute. On the drugs scenario they said they haven't learned about drugs at school yet (surprising) but one of the girls assured me she knows about them because she's very fond of The Bill on TV, and there's lots about drugs on there! Actually, the children in general seem to learn a lot about safety stuff by watching the soaps, East Enders and Casualty in particular. There were carpets of wildflowers in Cornwall, particularly bluebells and campions ... but back in Somerset although everything is fresh and green, there are relatively fewer wildflowers. That's crop spraying for you

Interesting about the kid's view of the world filtered through soaps, anne ... today hasn't been too bad ... had a fun time with my aunty B who brings me in, looking through my extensive collection of fancy shoes that I rarely wear .. cos she is going on a cruise and will be dressing for dinner every night (I imagine) she borrwed three pairs, and took them off ------- in that lovely shoe box that you bought for me, anne! Barb stayed and did great service her keeping me company for a few hours, while the chemo was slowly got going (staff shorages)but lovely docotor and good canula on inside of arm, above wrist.. Mandy Jane came down about 4 then Mr K. then Dr A. then the lovely and gorgeous Mrs Wife ... last but not least .. she had governors' meeting tonight .. so plenty of company and texts and emails too from other family and friends .. Feel ok -tired but not ready to sleep yet ... it's not easy. xxxxx

I've just seen this, written precisely 24 hours ago I think .. glad you had lots of distractions.
I've had a fairly domestic day - an appointment about money matters this morning, a visit to a neighbour, and slow cooking belly of pork for tea (S eats with us on Thursdays, it's when we have our mum and daughter chats).
I love that your Aunty B is going on a cruise with the shoe box, that sounds so very suitable!

I did another session of safety training with 10/11 year olds.
My group of children arrived in front of the Resuscitation model and one excited child yelled out,
"We're going to learn suffocation techniques!"

^ LOL
Today I went into a state of shock, can hardly remember who I tlaked to or what I said, just a blur of voices and words buzzing around the idea that I can have a break in my chemo, I can have a summer!
How great is that . . .. I was not expecting such good news and I am almost delirious with plans and excitement
hence wide awake at 1.30 am
What we did after we got out of the hosptal was get a coffe in David's Cafe at Trentham, walked in the Italian Garden soaking up some late evening sun and the beauty of the new plants bursting out all over in there. They have a strong purple colour theme going on at the moment, lovely!
Then we went for a Chinese meal to celebrate, duck pancakes to start and two diff vegetarian options to follow. First time I ever ordered either mushrooms or bean curd in a Chinese. they both came with a good mix of veg, like pak choi and chinese leaves and brocolli .. very good!

Re-cycling again, Anne! I have been to the shed and seen the work-men!
Yesterday I wasn't ery well .. am still feeling sick, but thinking that this is nearly the end of hte chemo-illness for a while ..
I've also been taking notes like mad from my two anti-cancer books which I will upload in here at some point, but atm I'm finding the dongle is not very reliable ..

Yes, that's right suze, recycling as per my philosophy of 'throw something out every day ..'. Not sure what I'll throw out tomorrow ..
How's the work on the shed going, will you be settled in before the summer hols?
I've also been planning a day trip to my parents which I'm not looking forward to, isn't that dreadful? It's not them, specifically, it's organising the travel to their isolated spot in Devon.
Also been drawing cute cats and dogs, and playing about with my sewing machine - free embroidery and all that, doing some crazy patchwork. It's half term for me. Time to play.
Passing you a peppermint x

hiya - have done some REAL cycling, very excited ... 15 miles in the forest here, it is so beautiful ...
the shed is progressing, it probably couldn't look any worse than it does atm, but it will gradually get better!
we hope!

I was in Wells visiting a couple of art exhibitions, one by a local art group in the Cathedral Chapter House and one by the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists in the Market Hall. had lunch out too - warm chicken salad and a pint of Butcombes

Yesterday wsa so great cycling in the woods .. I would certainly prioritise cycling over chores any day of the week. Today dawns bright and sunny again, we are going to skip over to Wales, cycle round the Orme, if I have the energy for that! We'd also like to see the Laburnum arch at Bodnant Gardens ...

Hello folks. This is Thursday & the sun is out. Today I have mixed feelings as so much has happened (some negative stuff) & so much is about to happen (mixed). Tonight, my son Craig is going away with some friends. He is going camping for the weekend in Whales. But he doesn't seem to know where about in Whales It is anyone's guess how he will go on & if he has the right stuff, or where he will be. But I feel sure there will be some text messages going to-&-fro. So in a way, I am distracted by all this & will soon feel the 'empty nest syndrome' along with all sorts of other things going on in my head. But the sunshine does help! ............ I'm pleased Sue to know you have a 6month rest from Chemo & all the various tests. I hope you feel better now & enjoy those months with good health. And many years after too I hope. ............. Yes Anne I am a regular at the charity shops, either taking stuff or buying it. But that is good. And it is a good way of re-cycling, which benefits everyone. .................. Well have a good day all.
