hiya leah -- great that you've joined and I hope you're going to have lots to say over in the anti-cncer threads, seeing as it was you who perusaded me to get the book that inspired me to start this forum in this way ..
your answers raised a smile, esp that one about ppl who say "you'll be fine" .. cos, yeah we know, we know, we just probably wont be fine, haveing advanced cnacer is never going to be really fine ...
and I really think that sometimes when ppl say that sort of thing they are expressing their own hopes, but maybe not realising that it is a way of silencing us from talking about our fears
I like your advice and try to live it

1. How do you know suze? Could say it's the luck of the draw. As I understand it some brothers and sisters are rubbish, but that hasn't been my experience.
2. How do you COPE with knowing suze? There were times when we were young that her ownership of the bedroom and the collective sweet jar were pretty trying - but since then it's always been easy to know and love her. Although I would suggest to Brigid that she should hide any treats because I think that part of suze is always just under the surface.
3. Fave food? anything, but I have gone off broccoli since Suze shared with John it's wonder properties and now we eat it more or less every mealtime. It makes a poor breakfast. I asked if raspberries could take their place but health comes at a price and apparantly the price of a punnet of raspberries is too high.
4. Fave drink? gin and tonic since Aunty Ann shared its low fat secret with me at Christmas. With a slice of lemon it's almost healthy surely?
5. Fave medicine? since having children it has to be calpol - it's saved the day - and night many a time. Usually just before I got to the panic station.
6. Fave TV show? apprentice - and at the moment junior apprentice. Although it seems harsh to see young people be so competative.
7. Is there a talent you wish you had? Being a fantastic sister - oh no sorry I have that one covered. Iit seems I am practically perfect in every way. Being able to spell would be usefulll.
8. Clowns? cute or scarey? weird but each to their own.
9. Thing you're most likely to get into a rant about? my boys forgetting to get ready for school in the morning. Sad but true. Never mind the massive injustices in the world. Generally I am too superficial to even recall the news after its finished - but hey forget to brush your teeth boys and it will mean big trouble!!!!
10. Thing most likely to brighten your day? John Toby and Joe
And lastly, give us a bit of advice? live in the now

How do you know suze? - I've never met her in person ... I think ... I may be wrong on that, we tripped over each other on a message board like this one many ... many ....many years ago, the exact number seems to be in a brain cell I can no longer access, since then I have serially stalked her through message board after message board because I'm obsessive like that, I don't like losing touch with people How do you COPE with knowing suze? - well there are days ;D, and there are other days but generally there are days Fave food? - oo tricky, there's poulet doodah with fat crisps which I'm rather fond of (poulet basquese with rice and poppadums but I can never remember "basquese") or chicken fillets in seasoned breadcrumbs with mixed salad - it has some fancy italian name which totally escapes me at the mo, chicken ceasar salad is good too, I'm quite partial to burgers now and then, a sunday morning full english breakfast is a bit of a tradition too, I quite like lamb rogan josh, fish and chips, pretty much any chinese food, pate and toast ...... I think it would be easier if I just told you what I didn't like I'm not partial to squid or octopus as I don't like the texture, maybe I haven't had it cooked properly though, and I'm not a big fan of swede or beetroot but anything else is fair game ok I have weird and wide ranging tastes ...and I nearly forgot a partiality to staffordshire oat cakes which I'm about to have for lunch Fave drink? - currently abbot ale Fave medicine? - got to be thyroxine without whose help I wouldn't be typing this Fave TV show? - these are a bit transient so it's a current favourite, I'd say Dr Who but I also like Dollhouse, Heroes, any of the CSI's, any SciFi, Criminal Minds .... basically brutal murders and fantasy I guess , oh and family guy and american dad and the cleveland show and south park .. I do like irreverent cartoons, the more irreverent the better Is there a talent you wish you had? - I can't think of a real talent I'd like, I'd quite like the abilty that Hiro has in Heroes has though, I'd settle for being able to wake up and get out of bed feeling full of beans to be honest Clowns? cute or scarey? - depends, childrens party clowns are an abomination and the spawn of satan so definitely scarey, cirque du soleil clowns are funny and cute and extremely talented, billy smarts circus clowns are a bit sad and tired, so it depends Thing you're most likely to get into a rant about? - politics, politicians, people being treated unfairly, democracy or the lack of it ... I'm sure you have the idea of which subjects to avoid now ;D Thing most likely to brighten your day? - a smile on the face of my other and better half And lastly, give us a bit of advice? - find something you love doing and do it as often as you can
