hiya
not seen any email from Dave, but that's cos I didn't log onto any yet!
we went in to check it out yesterday and it looks pretty with a new lick of paint and some fresh furniture ... had no idea it could house 26 rooms, looks quite small from the outside, and she couldn't show us any rooms last night cos they were all full!

1. How do you know suze? I don’t yet. She leapt out of a thread at me on another forum less than two days ago. In the little more than 42 hours since, she has revealed that she is thoughtful, empathic, perceptive, knowledgeable and really very nice.
2. How do you COPE with knowing suze? When COPING becomes an issue I will update this questionnaire.
3. Fave food? You won’t ever pin me down to just one of anything… There are just too many fave foods for me… I eat anything and enjoy it… but maybe this week Gypsy tart, oh and Tyrrells spicy coated peanuts (horseradish and seaweed) mmmm, oh and…
4. Fave drink? There are just too many fave drinks for me… I drink anything and enjoy it… but maybe MacDonald’s Strawberry Thick Shakes, oh and Baileys original, oh and…
5. Fave medicine? Aniseed and chlorophyll cough mixture the good old fashioned kind with a kick to it… OK so there’s just one, but what, medicine??
6. Fave TV show? Fools and Horses, Last of the Summer Wine, Judge Judy…
7. Is there a talent you wish you had? To be able to play the 550 Domenico Scarlatti harpsichord sonatas or a couple of dozen would be good to start…
8. Clowns? cute or scarey? Sometimes irritating, sometimes endearing, sometimes unsettling…
9. Thing you're most likely to get into a rant about? Injustice… oh and bigotry, insensitivity, impoliteness, arrogance, bullying, violence, racism...
10. Thing most likely to brighten your day? Courtesy, smiles, hugs, warm words, communing with others…
And lastly, give us a bit of advice? Recognise that your truth and reality may not be the truth and reality of others…

Bless you Roger, very kind words!
I think this forum o mine is fairly quiet, compared to the BBC, but I hope it adds a bit more detail to the whole anti-cancer thing, which I have to dole out in small doses in someone else's forum.
I think quite a few ppl read it, but not many post much .. it is nice to get some feedback.
Stay away from the Macdonalds thick shakes, anti-cancer is for us all, you know, not just the patients!

Hi Suze... Yes I have become somewhat more aware of my own dietary failings, not for the first time, but this present situation has had a much greater impact upon me, so for the last ten days I have, in conjunction with my daughter in law been pursuing a new dietary regime. It is killing me, but I am if nothing else tenacious. I believe that taste can be trained and that it is only a matter of time before my body and taste buds become more comfortable with eating healthily. I am currently 7 stones over my 'ideal' weight, although I think that would be too light for me, but I aim to shed 5 stones as a side benefit to eating healthy. LOL I will let you know if my 'taste buds will adapt' theory works for me!

Good for you Roger, the anti-caner diet benefits you in lots of ways, decreases your risk of diabetes and heart disease for a start, so it is win-win all round ..
My taste buds have definitely changed and I enjoy my daily curry etc and do not miss the alcohol, but I still have a weak spot in my sweet tooth ...
I have kept my weight quite steady with this regime, for the first time in my life .. I have been as overweight at you in the past, lost it and put it steadily back on, so staying more or less the same is a big win for me, though i would like to lose a bit more, being overweight is a risk factor in itself
Let us know how you get on ..

Hello I am a member of Beating Bowel Cancer where I met Suze last year shortly after being diagnosed. BBC has been a life line, a God send for me as I live in quite a remote area of Andalucia and very little in the way of social life. So having cyber friends whilst dealing with the ups and downs of the disease and the treatments has kept me focused and Suze in particular has been an inspiration to me. Suze mentioned the shed a few times and I asked her why. I often call this place a shed when it is untidy. Having looked at the photographs of 'the shed' I see it is nothing like a shed at all, more a very luxurious retreat. Hubby and I want to return to the UK as our family are there and as well as not getting any younger, I'm 70 and Fred, my hubby, is 80 in December, this disease has made me realize, hubby too, that we want to end our days, as and when, back in the UK. Selling is difficult, so we are going to try to swap, failing that lock up and this is where the talk of the shed came in as with savings we might just be able to buy something similar. So, a fellow bowel cancer person, dog lover and owner, married to Fred and with a daughter the wrong side of 50, but only just, and a son the right side of 50 but only just, haha. Two grown up grandsons aged 31 and 30.

Welcome on board, though to be honest we dont get much traffic and I put more effort into the BBC myself these days -- it serves its purpose as a repository for my anti-cnacer stuff ...

1. How do you know suze? I don't really, yet. But I have seen her caring and helpful posts on another forum. (BBC) 2. How do you COPE with knowing suze? Well, that is something I guess we'll find out as time passes. I am wondering if I can COPE with her food regimen ! 3. Fave food? Smoked Salmon 4. Fave drink? Milk 5. Fave medicine? Love 6. Fave TV show? NCIS 7. Is there a talent you wish you had? Music. I am currently learning the cornet & the ukulele. Played clarinet at school, but boy I wish I had learnt properly. 8. Clowns? cute or scarey? Over-rated. But quite amusing at times if in right frame of mind. 9. Thing you're most likely to get into a rant about? Young death. 10. Thing most likely to brighten your day? My delightful partner, and the lovely notes she leaves around the house for me most days. And lastly, give us a bit of advice? Be prepared to take advice from others with experience. Even if you don't REALLY want to hear it or heed it. That is why I am here. I am rather pathetic with my diet. I am also overweight. I KNOW I would have massive problems switching to a full anti cancer diet, but I have come to see if there is something that I can do to start me on that path. If I can lose weight at the same time I would be thrilled, plans are afoot to get hitched this July.

Nice intro Jani
I think. in general this board does not get a lot much traffic, well certainly not a lot of writing, though I think quite a few read in here .. and I keep it open cos it functions in a practical way for ME anyway!
Do you live in the UK?
