I've been doing my safety stuff a couple of times this week; had a very active young lady in my tour round our hazard scenarios today so I solved the problem by sitting cross legged on the floor every now and again, and being 10 years old they all copied me. I'm just about getting the hang of child psychology now, which is a shame as my own daughter is 25.
I need to send out wedding invitations. Very foolishly I offered to make them, a bit ambitious perhaps, will pop into Bath tomorrow to buy some. Husband is visiting a friend in Cambridge so I've got the house to myself until tomorrow evening, hooray!
I have to pop into Bath because the estate agents are bringing some more re-viewers to our house, and they told me quite openly they have a better chance of encouraging an offer if they are on their own with the clients ....

HAHa, when minnie is throwing strops about the wedding plans you could try sitting cross legged on the floor and see how that pans out!
how many are being invited to this wedding?
it is getting exciting about the house being sold, have you got a plan for what you'll do it if it IS sold? bit of a nuisance to feel you might have to back-pedal cos of a clash with the wedding planning ..
of course I think you should just plod on with the house thing whatever, cos it's taken years to get to this point and you never know how the time-table of house selling will really work out ...
minnie wasn't too bothered about your needs when she was planning to do it in the US of A, was she!

Hi,
Have had a week away with my parents to Pembrokshire, in a cousins beach side house, lovely location and weather was very kind to us. Mind you I could have had a few cross legged moments I think.
My mum had another scan yesterday, and whatever the outcome she has decided enough is enough. We are hopeful that the results will be managable.
Lots gone on in here, bike rides, wedding planning, shed visits, operation recovery, all sounds good.
where is the promised sun today?
I have forfeited a day away for double glaziers who are yet to turn up, trying hard to keep a lid on my temper!

I bought some of that handmade Indian paper with embedded flowers, today, and folded up it makes nice little cards to write individual invitations in. It will take place on a Thursday lunchtime, and then they will be driven to Gatwick for an overnight stay in a hotel prior to flying out to the States for a couple of weeks. Many of the guests will be dropping in from work, so it will be fairly sedate - we are booking a finger buffet and Welcome drink to take place in the wedding room - which is very nice. They will have a party for everyone sometime in the Spring. This is the location: As for the house sale - the re-viewers today brought their parents with them and I'm told by the estate agent they were very keen. So fingers crossed and hope to hear something on Monday. As soon as we accept an offer we drop everything and find somewhere to buy ourselves, in Wells or Glastonbury. We have places in mind, there is one beautiful complex with large grounds just outside Wells which always has leasehold flats available - not sure if that's a good sign but we've looked at several in the past and they are very well maintained. Glad you had a good break in Pembrokeshire, Jan, and I wish you luck with your mum's scan results.

ooerr - hot news - our re-viewers and their parents are seeking financial help prior to making an offer! (which could potentially mean a house move and the wedding will happen around the same time, just after Christmas!!!)
We need to shift ourselves and look for our own property ..

Fingers crossed guppy ..
We had a lovely day (Mr K and I) I meet him on the train and we go into Liverpool and then go around the various things that are on during the Biennial Arts Festival .. there is lots to see, very very varied in all dimensions, lots of styles, lots of exhibition spaces and lots to talk about .. we have got to go on a different day next time, as some of the big galleries are not open on Mondays ..
I think they have a far more vibrant art scene in liverpool than I've ever seen in Manchester .. more gallery spaces and huge imagination to pull these various things together for these couple of months when it is on ..

ooh I need to go and see the Biennial stuff ... some of it looks amazing! Glad you enjoyed it Suze.
I'm off work sick today - there is a nasty cold bug going round work and I think I've got it ... in previous years I think I probably would have gone in - but I've realised you get no thanks for it.
great news about the house guppy, will keep my fingers crossed for you

Sorry you're poorly, Jane, hope you get better soon. I've been browsing retirement properties on the web .. there seem to be a number of properties available with no onward chain, and for a reasonable price. Am learning all about leaseholds - their potential and their pitfalls. We will physically look around on Thursday. Our poor cat is fading. She has virtually stopped eating, and can't groom herself much - so her 50% Persian fur is rapidly turning to felt ... possibly she has a tooth problem, or has something stuck in her throat. I suspect not, though. Vets opinion tomorrow I'd love to visit Liverpool, Suze

.. Phone went, got all excited for a moment ... only a salesman
yes, Liverpool - it does sound like a very exciting city. I've heard similar things about Newcastle and Leeds. Perhaps the North is becoming the new South?
