I'm glad you like that image of the new bannister .. which lives on in my imagination ... meanwhile here is the way it looks at the moment: OOOOH, Fred it's me best carpet! Evidence of work in progress ... it is pretty good to have this shed to live in while our house looks like a building site!

Hello folks. Another lovely day today. I love this summer lark. .... I did have a visit to d.i.y. stores to look at electric showers, as mine has stopped working. Only cold water coming through now. Anyway, seems like I can order a replacement on-line, so after Easter I will do that. In the mean-time baths will be the order of the day. ..... By the way Sue, why have you decided to have the walls stripped down to the brick? Just seen your pics. It seems a big job & I bet you are glad to relax in the shed. Just wondered why such a big upheaval at home? .... Hope everyone has had a good day today.

Happy Easter, one and all! Home for a rest after three days of grandson sitting. Spent yesterday afternoon wearing a back to front nylon housecoat and a silver tiara being Cinderella locked in the cellar and waiting to be released by the fairy godmother. The delights of the four year old world! Hope all is well in the worlds of us slightly older ones, too. Major work in the hall suze, but the bannister-to-be looks lovely

:)Happy Easter to everyone. Its a beautiful day here, we are not venturing out to mix with the throng of people here for the holiday. Nothing against the people just the queuing up for everything ect. Just had a side salad and sandwiches for lunch, and some trifle our Easter egg, we sat out side it was lovely. Feel O>K> today I think I was perhaps in the sun to long yesterday terminating the daisies. Bye for now L>M>xxxx

Hiya all
Have hardly had chance to sit by a computer for days .. partly out and about on the bike and partly doing the DIY parts of the kitchen project ... also, when we are in Stoke I cannot access pc cos all the upstairs is under dust sheets in a bid to try and keep at least one small corner of the house free from the dust that is seeping every where !
We did layers and layers of paint on the kitchen over the weekens, after we did hours of hoovering and mopping to try and reduce the loose dust scenario ... these builders have been very clean but the dust just keeps settling, and falling out of the old bricks ..
Poe, you asked why we are going back to brick in the hall .. tis cos we were truly fed up of the half-dismantaled wood panelling and wanted a proper job doing this time, so we had the panels removed and there was never an plaster behind them .. so hence the enormous job it is ... perhaps seems a bit mad but I have never liked that panelling, and previous solutions to it were always a bit 1/2-baked, so now it is going to be lovely ..
I've wanted a new staircase for ages .. Michael and I made that one of planks when we 1/2 removed the panelling ... many years ago --- so it's never been a professional job! LOL
I am so excited about the new work in the kitchen now ... hopefully we'll get the units delivered today and the fitting will start tomorrow. We haven't finished the painting, but we did as much as we could in the time we had. B did four layers of emulsion on the new plaster! I have primed and undercoated four doors and the new skirting boards .. you wouldn't believe such a small space could have so many doors! You also might not beileve how smart it makes a place look to have doors that match and have the same handles on! LOL

:)Its amazing what a difference having a loo downstairs makes, that was the big draw back with our house in Cov. It is looking good, talk about dust next door to us had a few slabs laid last week and Ive never seen so much you couldnt see the bloke for dust. We went to Wey. this lunch time but did not stay long it was cloudy and a cool breeze, it was warm up here again when we got back, the sun is out again. Have wrote Bs card must remember to post it tomorrow. Bye for now L>M>xxxxx
