Hello all - glad everyone had a nice Easter, and thankyou so much for your lovely card, Pauline. It is displayed on our dresser, and much appreciated.
I think your new hallway will be ever so fresh and bright, suze, more modern than half panelling. Useful to have the downstairs loo as well.
I haven't drunk nearly so much while living down here - I think that says life is so much nicer, although I did relapse and drink almost an entire bottle of white wine yesterday (because Minnie and MrMinnie were visiting and declined alcohol - we couldn't waste two bottles could we?). Grandchildren will be the next family adventure I suppose, but hopefully not for another year or so ...
We've been out and about bird and nature watching during this lovely weather - also practicing with my new camera, although I can't compete with the macho telescopic equipment some of these birders (men, naturally ..) possess. Metaphors indeed.
Is everyone planning to watch the Royal Wedding? I might watch the event itself then go out and about in town enjoying everyone's celebrations. There is a nearby street party, with lots going on, tickets only, but my husband insists he is going to boycott the whole thing and walk the hills and I wasn't brave enough to consider going on my own.

wow great shot, anne
I will watch the wedding .. I am not a royalist, indeed I'd abolish the lot of em, but I am interested in the whole production of it, a bit like any other reality TV nonsense! I have signed us up to go to my Leisure Club cos they are doing a bit of a party thing there .. tho when I signed in there were not many names already down, the woman says the club is really quiet, so many ppl have taken these three days off to get a holiday and go away!
Fitter arrived good and early to get on with the kitchen, after the usual sucking in of breath about some aspect or other of the plan he managed to get cracking and seems to have brightened up quite a bit now he's doine the bit he thought was hard about the ducting for the hood! He seems a nice guy!
I will bob off out cycling with Mr K soon ... and have my tea over with him to avoid being too long in this dust and mess here !

Hi folks. Lovely weather again. .... Thanks for answering my query Sue about the home construction. I'm sure it will all be worth while. ... Glad you got the card Anne. I missed sending you a welcome to new home card & birthday, so it was a kind of all greetings together card. .......... I will deffo watch the royal wedding. Also, I believe there are things going on in town so I will meander off to see what is going on. I do think they are a well matched couple & I hope things work out for them. ...... We are still unable to shower here & so far are having baths. I hope Les can fix the new shower unit in tomorrow. .... Oh I forgot to say what a lovely pic Anne. .... Hope everyone feels well. ..... I ain't got any news yet so I'll say Bye for now.

Yes, dad, that window looks great now the eye level grill has gone along with all the broken tiles and scrappy pipes/cables, etc .. etc ..
we can now see the lovely water feature a lot more fully ... and the space doesn't feel as pinched as I thought it would be now we've made greater use of the wall at right angles to the window.
<< AHHH >>> just enjoying watching the Royal Wedding stuff .. very lovely

It was lovely wasn't it? Like you, I'm not much of a royalist, but I've nothing against K&W, a bit of pageantry and the opportunity for street parties and celebrations. I especially liked the little bridesmaid with her hands over her ears on the balcony, especially while K&W were kissing! Didn't Pippa Middleton look absolutely stunning? The wedding vows came across as very sincere.
Your kitchen will be super - will part of the food preparation area be in front of the window or will that all be draining board?
I think I have a free weekend ahead, with clog dancing and maypoling in the market square on Monday (not me personally).

The royal wedding was superb. Beautiful clothes, music & in fact everything about it was right & fitting. I don't have strong feelings either way about the royal family, but to have a different system would not bring in any extra cash for the poorer people in my view. So why not enjoy what we can all share I say. ............... Sue your kitchen looks great so far & the end result will be just the business I'm sure. ......... Well mum&dad I'm glad you like the card. I did send out just a few to people but I'm not sure if I always will or not. I didn't send Sue & B one as I expected them to be at the shed. Funnily enough I always get an Easter card from cousin Lesley. She is a staunch Catholic, so I think that's why. I never see her at all. ........... Yesterday I met a friend in town & we did go to the only street party I was aware of in the Piccadilly area. I didn't see anyone I knew at all, apart from Sandra who I had arranged to meet up with. We just had a few beers. then she decided to go for one of those temporary tattoos on her arm. Some folks had the union jack painted on their faces. after the drinks & listening to the band we just went home. But at least the weather held out nice for everyone. .......... Hope everyone is well. We here are fine. Lovely weather again too.

:)We loved the wedding, everything about it was just right. We put the teli. on at 8-0 clock and watched almost everything going on all day. gosh we went to Wey. this morning Ive never seen so many policemen down there seems they were expecting a big march not to sure what but we decided to come home, only the buses had been diverted and we had a right long walk to get one.I dont like being around if troubles afoot. The sun is out again, it did start off a bit cool but soon warmed up. Rang to say Happy birthday Brigid but it was your answer phone at the shed.Anyway HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Love L>M>xxxxx
