Yes May is here,we went to Poole today took a picnic and sat in the car for it, because it was windy, nice and sunny so it was nice watching things on the water. Got back earlyish because our grass cutter was coming, trouble is he didnt turn up, what can we do with these men and boys eh. Dad and I will cut it tomorrow if its dry. Doing a sort of curry thing for tea, still feel a bit full after the picnic lunch. Hope your bloke turned up to measure the kitchen today. I opened the window when we came in but the back of my arms quite cold, just shut it up. Hope Brigid had a nice birthday on Sunday. Bye for now L.M. xxxxxx

Happy Anniversary to suzeforum! ;D
I've had a lovely day walking through yet more bluebell woods, will pop a photo up tomorrow or sometime ... we did get a little lost on the way home, couldn't remember which particular field we had walked around and ended up doing a circle, such is life. Anyway we saw bluebells, wild garlic, pheasants, small copper butterflies and (I think) a thick-legged flower beetle (I feel a new internet user name coming on ;D )
Terrible cramp in my legs this evening though - planning a good sleep before walking across to Wookey tomorrow.
Belated birthday greetings to B! Hope the painting went well.
btw mnd - I'm going on a coach trip to Brownsea Island a week on Saturday, so we will pass through Poole I expect. Kind of looking forward to it, but I'm a dreadful baby about travelling on boats.

Oh you will be very close to mum n dad on that trip .... haha ... perhaps you will bump into each other!
We have bluebell woods on our doorstep here at the shed, when we went for our walk at the weekend it was straight into bluebells, such a treat ... I have always saught them out, and here we are right on top of one!
The man was at the house for over four hours yesterday, he not so much measured as made a plastic model, there are 9 pieces to be cut not counting the upstand pieces which may be trimmed on site next week ... it amazed me how complex it turns out to be, getting a stone feature .. we are having the outer edges of the floor units covered in stone as well as the tops, hence the number of pieces and possibly why it took him so long.
I managed to do only a bit of painting b4 he arrived, and could do none while he was there .. so the weekend's fun is lined up .. though the weather is set to change so perhaps we wont mind staying in and decorating!
I also had time for a coffee with Liz, she has been working in Stoke again .. then I went to my satsang ..
Today is Mr Kettle-day .. cycling off into the sunchine! We hope to get at least as far as Prestatyn ... though we will come home on the train from there .. this is a new route for him, he knows the other side really well and wants to piece in the section from Chester .. we'll see, he is map reading!

Gosh it's May already! And by golly it's the anniversary of the forum then. Doesn't time fly? I'm glad everyone seems well & enjoying the sun. Today I have been indoors doing some wallpapering. It quite worn me out. It was lining paper round the fireplace. The next job is to paint over it. But not tomorrow. The cake looks good Karen. Anyway, I'm off to bed now. Night all.

:)Sunny here though we didnt get as much as everyone else over the holiday. Had a bloke to cut the hedge level and mow the back lawn this morning,I then went out and worked myself to a frazel tidying up all the front bushes. Goodness Sue you must love your bike doing all those miles on it,and the gym as well. Dads in the shed, we were going to go to Poole today to look at a new bed, but it was to late when the men had gone , so will go another day. Bye for now L.M.xxxxx

Good pedalling suze! I've been walking a lot this week, around Priddy and around Biddlecombe just outside Wells. Saw baby grasshoppers - seems incredibly early for them .. roses in full bloom in someone's garden too.
Well I'm all nervous tonight - meeting up in Exeter with 8 Guildford school mates who've moved to the West Country - I haven't seen them for 42 years!!! So early night for me, with a Nytol. Sleep tight!

Hello all. Lots of rain here in Stoke-on-Trent. Rain, rain, rain. Much needed mind you. .... Hope your meeting is successful Anne. It's good to meet friends old & new sometimes. ... Well Sue I think I've said before that I don't know how you manage all that cycling. But if it is fun, then that is the main thing. ..... I did some wallpapering the other day, but sadly I have removed some of it today as it just didn't look right. I had tried very hard to but up the edges but somehow overlapped a little & it did show up when the light shines on the fireplace wall. I had put emulsion paint on also. Anyway I will leave it a few days before deciding what to do next. ..... On a more pleasant note I had an email from someone I met on the Laurel & Hardy Convention a few years ago as I was missed on the following conventions. So that has led me to emailing 2 people from bonny Scotland. So that was a nice surprise. In fact if you saw me stripping the wall today it was just like a L&H film, as I just wasn't in the mood to do it at all. I intend to rest up a bit today now. .... Hope all is well with everyone.

hiya Still decorating yesterday I did gloss on the door frames, skirting and and shelves in the pantry .. there are FOUR door frames in our tiny kitchen! LOL We aslo did final touch up oif white emulsion on ceiling and first coat of colour on walls . we were pondering gettting a contrasty colour, but ended up with a harmonious neutral .. which we think looks great .. today have glossed three doors and am taking a break .. in fact that is ALL the doors cos we have decided to leave off the one between the lean to bit and the main kitchen .. now the flooring is all the same and the laundry is outside it looks better without the door!
