Well done Pauline! I was veggie for about a year when Minnie was mini - remember making a lovely fish pie for Christmas Dinner.
Speaking of which - I bought a couple of delicious looking 'Black Welsh' cattle sirloin steaks from the farmers' market today. This will be our Christmas lunch; the stallholder suggested I buy today because he doesn't have many cattle left - cheeky so and so!
On Friday we are off to Cornwall for a week by the seaside (not as mad as it sounds, we love St Michael's Mount and have booked our usual flat overlooking it. Love to watch the sea at this time of year). Anyway, I will look in for everyone's news as soon as we get back, although I may be able to hire the art gallery computer for a quick look.

hiya Anne - hope you have a lovely time on your annual jaunt ..
re beign veggie -- We don't eat much meat at all .. and I like the way it makes us consider what to cook and new recipes .. did you know I sometimes post my veggie recipes in here, Poppy? well in the anti-cancer section ...
it is very sensible to cut out bacon and ham, at least, cos they are known carcinogens ... and you get a more interesting range of nutrients if you plan meals around not using meat, I think ...

Thanks Jan, it was delighful to see you again .. it seems like ages ... it certainly gave me something to look forward to while I was in the hospital ... though I thinik it is a bit pot-kettle-black of you about who talks the most!
I got home fine, and Sam happened to be around to offer me a lift, so we grabged a brew together and then I have been doingthe emulsion on the walls .. not ideal painting in the evening, but it is only the first coat of colour on white, so it shows up quite well and we can make i better with the final coat ..
I haven't quite finished, but needed a rest .. I have done the bulk of it and most of he fiddly bits, so I think it'll only need an hour to finish the rest
tbh I feel a bit sick too, could be paint fumes ... so I am having a drink and a sit down!

Hiya .. yes I am keeping busy .. but have been suffering with sore hip .. and carted self of to physio, he is using acupuncture ...
DAD (nagging again ... ) I do sitll wish you would try a physion ... I reckon you might benefit from acupuncture ... he reckons can be good for pain control even if they cannot do much for the underlying condition .. to be honest, as the moment I feel as though he kicked me .. but he assures me it will get better ... I think recent stress made my thigh muscles go into spasms ....

I was seriously pleased to see you enjoy your food, it always seems an indicator for me if I am heading for trouble when I lose my appetite.
Butter lubricates your joints....honest!!
enjoy your holiday Anne.
Today I am preparing for yet another post op caring routine, ie, getting all the mundane chores out the way..cleaning, shopping etc...and then I might explore the possibility of a gym membership if I get chance.

Hi Jan, it is rare for me to lose my appetite, even in chemo I seem able to keep eating!
I do think you would be better with a gym a bit nearer than the one you told me about ... ideally on a route you actually use, say between your usual shops or your mum's house, cos that is the best way to build in actually using the gym, as opposed to be a gym-sponsor!
I am going to nip over to mine and do water and warmth for my sore hip today ... then lunch with a pal at Trentham.
We watched B's school show last night ... GREASE ... a very good effort with some great performances and dancing on the stage ... delightful

Hiya, quick note to family.. we don't plan on sending any Christmas presents, so no need to send us any! Luke wants an electric guitar from us. To be fair, he's been asking for a while, so maybe we should get him one. Still no new neighbours, it's been like a holiday at home.
Susan, you have an impressive amount of energy. Wonder what project you will start next now the house and shed are all sorted?! We will be thinking of you on Tuesday, hope the prognosis is as good as can be.
Pleased it was Russell Grant leaving Strictly tonight.
Was good talking to you earlier Mum. Dad, pity I missed your call earlier. x
