Morning all
Thoughts are will Anne and her family today at the WEDDING! I hope it all goes well.
Brigid has gone back to work today .. we went out for a meal with some of my mates from college last night, which was lovely and today I am hoping to make some progress on decorating the box room that we use for all our clothes .. it was the first room we decorated when B moved in here, and after 18 years it could do with some attention! the wallpaper in the window it literally bleached out.
We might go the whole hog and get wardrobes like we have at the shed in there, I need to fix a visit from them asap.

LOL @ you jane, didn't realise you were a hand-bag queen!
Blimey - it is snowing here now .. it wasn't when B left, but it looks like it is going to settle, already quite thick on all surfaces!
I am going to get on with the decorating prep ... at least the little room is warm, the thermostat on the radiator doesn't work and it is always too hot in there!

It snowed here this morning and looked like it was going to settle ... luckily the rain has now washed it away, but I wish I'd left the heat on here when I went to work ... it comes back on at 4.30pm ... I got in at 4.29pm ... chilly!
Handbag queen yes I'm afraid I am ... since moving I've struggled to store them. I have one of the drawers under the bed full, a large packing box and a washing basket full ... this is the trimmed collection - I got rid of about 40 last year when I moved!

Thanks for the wedding wishes, everyone - the day went very well indeed, although I'm afraid we were so busy chatting to friends and relatives beforehand we forgot to go downstairs and meet Minnie as she arrived. My husband found her half way up the grand staircase complaining bitterly to the friend that accompanied her (she didn't come by bus or anything, her lift deposited her outside the door before parking). The ceremony went very well, they spoke clearly and gazed into each other's face, the dress was lovely, the bridesmaids and pageboy cute, the buffet was very good and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We did get turfed out at 3pm (we only had the room until then), but no bad thing and right now they will be flying somewhere over the States, to land in Las Vegas in about an hour. After a week they go on to San Franscisco where K spent some time while he was briefly working in America 20 years ago. You do think afterwards of things you should have done but didn't, I completely forgot to especially thank her friend whose husband chauffered the car, and I didn't really introduced the two sides of the family to each other. On the other hand I did say a sincere but gooey thankyou to Minnie's oldest group of friends who have known her since she was five years old, and been with her through various traumas, just as she has been through theirs. I think most of you know me on Facebook (ask if you don't ..) so I'll put another photo up ... I only took a few, the more 'official' ones haven't appeared yet. Minnie and MrMinnie didn't spend a lot of time together once they were married ;D - she disappeared out onto the street about five times, with her friends .. can't imagine why .. anyway here is a picture of her on the street, as it were, wrapped up in her woolly shawl and carrying two handbags. When I have a decent collection of photos I'll pop them in the photo section.

What a beautiful photo Ann. Minnie looks radiant. I'm so pleased the wedding went off well. Well all the hard work preparing has been worth it, hasn't it. ................. I've just spent the day doing chores & shopping. Nothing much to report really. ....... Hope everyone is well.

Morning peeeeeeps
B has set off to work at the very crack of not even dawn today, it is her assembly week and she has soem very elaborate stuff prepared which she needs to set up before her staff meeting ..
I have been pratting around on the internet! haha, easy life .. but now I am about to spring into action, tidying up the little heaps that grow around the house over the weekend.
We had a good weekend, made reall fires and snuggled down on Friday and Saturday nights .. we watched two French films on the telly ... on a channel that is free atm, and has no adverts .. very good that is ..
We also went for a walk in the sun with Rini at Trentham on saturday .. she is here for another week, so I may see her again before she goes back to Belfast.
Last night we saw the new film, King's Speech -- that is really good.
We were very strict on the diet so hopefully I will start to lose weight again .. I've crept up a few pounds in the winter, so I would like to see it off again
All in all a very good weekend

Morning all,
having recovered my password I now hope to join in more!
Having said that I am back to the daily routine of hospital visiting
, My Mum is back in, hopefully on the mend from a chest infection, but generally she is not so well,
my Father is relying on me a tad more just now, which is hard when for most of my life it has been the reverse.
Christmas passed in a blur of catering and eating, my daughter didn't make it home after all, but she may be here at the end of the month, holding my breath on that.
My son has hinted that changes may occur with him this year, last year he considered moving to Hong Kong as well, applied for a job, but didn't get it.. must admit I had mixed emotions about it...but what will be will be, you cannot hold your children back.
Anyways off for a scoot around to see what you have all been doing!

are you back in the shed suze, or is it shut up for the Winter?
Glad you;ve found your password, Jan, and your mother feeling a little better.
Guess why Minnie has two handbags ... The smart white one wasn't big enough for her (5 a day) cigarettes!
We aren't allowed to put our washing out, under the terms of the lease - instead, for the first time in my life, we have a tumble drier - it feels rather naughty
