Hi folks. Hope all is well. .......... Weather here mild, with rain. ......... Been to visit Dr. today. Had tinnitus for 2 weeks now. No wax in ears, which I sort of guessed really. Had my meds changed, on my own request. Gone back to a tried out med that I had before. .............. Bought a silver bracelet + charm which says, 21 for son-&-heir who's birthday is 26th of this month. 21 is a milestone. There will be other gifts + a meal out, but I have made a start. .... Shame I'll be on meds then as I read the no alcohol message on label. Needless to say I'm having a few tonight before starting the course tomorrow. ...................... Son-&-heir had an exam today & his last one on Friday. He thinks he did OK today. He got 56% mark for his essay. He said he wished it was more. Is it a good mark, I wonder? It is a pass anyway. .............. My neighbour has fitted new taps in my kitchen, at last. Always a job to do somewhere eh. ......... Had a take-away meal tonight. Very nice. ......... Think I'll be in bed early tonight. Tired now. Maybe it's down to the rum & coke.

I've had my first emergency visit to the dentist because an old crown fell out and needs replacing. Ha, I thought I'd be saving money by coming off Denplan and going NHS, but it's costing me £198.00 in lab fees ;D apart from that we've been to Shepton Mallett to buy a small dining table and a couple of chairs. Has anyone seen the recent BBC programmes about revitalizing High Street Shops, and reconstructing shops through the ages from Victoria onwards? I can see why the BBC chose Septon Mallett as the town to try it out on ... we didn't even get into the pituresque centre - the perimeter is full of a giant Tesco, several furniture stores .. huge places, no wonder the small businesses are squashed out. Packing boxes being collected tomorrow, thank goodness. Bookcases still not arrived, no clothes rails yet - have re-packed most clothes back into suitcases. Still blissfully happy walking around Wells, still feel as though I'm on holiday The bracelet sounds really lovely, Pauline. Are these exams his finals ... or are they in a couple of months? You will be so proud when he graduates. Hope everyone feeling positive, and not too wet and soggy in this rain (or are you having snow?)

Rain and more rain here, just waxed the lounge floor got myself all worn out so am relaxing here. Just rang you Sue not having much luck catching you in this week. Cooker got sorted I had some how pressed automatics button so thats why it failed to work, good job I noticed it I was all set to get a new one. To be honest the more straight forward things are the better I like it, the gadgetry drives me do lally. Pleased you like your new town Anne, and are settled in your new apartment. Gosh I paid 200 pounds for agold crown on the N H. may be crowns are not included on Dentist plan, and thats the standard charge, I do believe the white ones are more expensive. Hi Pauline sorry you have not been very well did ring one day last week craig said you had gone to Hanley.

I went to a promenade concert in Wells Cathedral this evening, never been to anything like this before .. the whole building was lit by just a few strategic lights and you could wander at will through the whole vast cathedral building while the visiting choir sang tunes from the likes of Thomas Tallis and William Byrd. The choir itself processed around a little inbetween pieces, their music sheets had tiny lights attached so they could see. Then we went for a meal in the Crown Hotel bistro .. the pub part of the Crown is the pub used in Hot Fuzz, if anyone saw that. And now I'm going to put my feet up and finish off a Rebus novel, and tomorrow the dining table, a couple of chairs and a hanging rail for my clothes arrives

hiya - it's starting to feel a bit less like a holiday home now, I'm beginning to feel like I actually live here. Still got piles off books all over the place, two large cases from Habitat arrive Friday and then we have to assemble them, that will be fun! I'm going to write some proper letters now to folks I didn't manage to say a proper goodbye to because the snow caused cancellation of two parties. Apart from that I shall get down to some arty crafty stuff - suze you will be delighted to know I've come across a UK based online shop where one can sell stuff, including the ACT's I used to do, and there is also a gallery in town. www.folksy.com/

Glad the settling process is going well, guppy. I love Wells and it's lovely to hear your descriptions of the Bishop's Palace moat and the swans. Back from a few days in North Wales with the 'rents, walk along the front at Rhos and then lunch at The Queen's Head, Glanwydden. If you and B haven't tried it yet, suze, I'd highly recommend it on your next trip to Llandudno Must dash, job finishes soon but you wouldn't believe it if you saw my diary! love to all avid x

Hiya Jane, no we do not know that lunch place ...
I was thinking maybe we'd go to Wales next week, after the scan results, but I have not booked it, not sure if B will want it or not
Today is a busyday of household chores for me, decorating, BnQ, food prep etc ... probably seeing Mr K later x

howdy all nothing much to report as previously mentioned the salt finally got to my scooter the continuing story is I finally got her back, I needed new disks, brakes, bearings and assorted bits and bobs which put a dent in the finances but at least the wheels turn now which is good on a vehicle which relies on having two of them I managed to pull my calf muscle the other day, while doing nothing more strenuous than bimbling aimlessly down a flat road - it's improved a lot since then, I can walk without a limp now though it still hurts failed to win the lottery yet again as did most people we decided that the rent a dvd service from empire is nowhere near as good as the one from love film and apparently I speak wendish, which is the language wendy speaks when she's tired, kinda handy really hope everyone is as well as can be expected

Yes we must all have the decorating bug, over the Christmas holidays we were helping eldest son to decorate his new home, now back to Staffs and helping younger son to decorate his lounge. Have been busy this morning by shortening the curtains for him, which are now in the washing machine, shortly to be ironed. We have had fog all day today - the sun has not made an appearance. Regards to all.

No decorating here, but I've been exploring the neighbourhood and discovered that Wookey Hole is a very reasonable walk from here. The sun has been shining these last two days, and the countryside looks wonderful already. The safety organisation I worked for in Bristol would like me to continue, and it's a possibility .. public transport links are very good. I've started a very large tapesty, a paisley design by Raymond Honeyman - a big project but this time it's for meeeee! Despite walking more I've been feeling worn out by around 6pm, and forcing myself to stay up beyond 8pm! I'm assuming this is a sign of relaxation and contentment I've read everyone's messages, and pass on my regards. Good luck with your scan, suze, I'm guessing it's at the beginning of next week?
