Hi folks. ... Yes, congrats to Luke. Keep the good work up. ...... Hope you had a good bike ride Sue. And all those miles t'other day is a great achievement. By the way Sue, when can I come over to see the cooker? I don't know if anything will come of it, but I need to sort sommat out. My gas fire needs a service so I need to know what I'd doing cooker-wise (if anything) before I book the service. ..... Well today I put a 2nd coat of paint on my bathroom door. But I am disappointed with it. I did sand the door down 1st. But as I applied gloss paint to a previously stained door the paint became blotchy. I did hope a 2nd coat would cure the problem, but it isn't as nice as I'd hoped. So I will leave it for a few days at least before attempting any more touching up on that door. ............ Anyway, apart from the painting I guess today has been just an ordinary Sunday ...... Oh & we had salmon for tea which was nice. At least the food was good today. .. Hope you all had a good day today.

I was tired yesterday so although I was ok skimming along on the flat I found it really hard to do the climbs on skippy .. first time I've been out on her, this year and the lowest gear stil requires quite alot of effort .. which I struggled to find, so we cut it short and only did 18 miles ...
good in the sense of starting my skippy hill training though!
Did two classes at the gym today .. so I was strong enough for that, need a lie down now

Crumbs Sue, only 18 miles you say! I reckon 18 excellent. I couldn't do that much even if I could ride a bike. Ah well. ...... OK Sue I will ring at the weekend to see if you're in then. ......... I've been to town today doing the usual rounds. I've donated stuff to the charity shop & bought food. Anyway, the weather is god here. ......... Hope everyone is having a good day.

LOL pauline, well it is all relative, innit ... but if you could ride a bike, then you would ride more than you think! I've been riding a bike for years, so 18 miles isn't long compared to 52 flat ones I did on Weds with Mr K .. and I can remember when I couldn't even get the bike up that hill behind our house, and thought 20 miles was the limit of my distance!
Most of the sportive (organised or charity) rides we look at doing are over 50miles AND include hills! I've got to be able to put the two together before we can join in one of those ..
The sportive we did last year for Prostate Cancer was over 50 though not too hilly, aroudn Stone etc .. but the full ride for that was over 100 miles and included some killer climbs out in the Peak District so they offered the shorter option for ppl like me ...

Just popping in to say Good Morning, and what a lovely day it is. I've got the flat to myself today, so I've washed the floor, watched Frasier on tv, sorted out some papers and now I'm off to the Wednesday Farmers' Market to drool and maybe buy something nice x

Hello folks. The weather here has been lovely & just like spring at last. I've been to town as usual. ........ I've cut a little chunk out of my finger (unusual) while I was trimming my toe nails. A combo of poor eyesight & the wrong scissors. That'll teach me. So now I'm typing with a plaster on finger. ..... Hope you have a good day Anne. ...................... Hope everyone has a good day.

Hiya
Mr Kettle and I made the most of the weather .... cycled out to Connah's Quay almost entirely on tracks rather than road .. stopped for lunch in Chester .. the river is running so high after the spring tides that the weir bit is FLAT!
It is a lovely wide path along the Dee river, and we came back on another path, converted rail line .. 45 miles today x

Hiya did French and spinning and swimming yesterday ... it is nearly my last lesson on French, we paid for 25 and next week is lesson 23, which will be my last cos we are not around for 24 and 25 as B's school has this early Easter holiday .. there is some talk of us keeping going with a converstation class at Corrine's house .. if she does that I hope she keeps it to the same day. I will miss it if we have to stop already! Another sunny day, it seems .. I am quite tempted to cycle to gym today, but that would mean setting off quite soon, and I am not ready! LOL guess I'll take the easy option and not cycle. Suprisingly, that too is a very quiet route, in the main, through all the oil refineries and chemical works along the side of the Mersey and the ship canal ... scenic in a very industrial way!

Good Morning! I can't believe it is Friday already, must be getting used to living here. Had a wonderful afternoon yesterday strolling slowly around a local wood, one of the Somerset Wildlife Trust reserves. There were lots of white wood anemones out and I'm guessing loads of bluebells later on. Off to the Co-op now with my rucksack on my back.
I hope you can carry on with your French, too, Suze.

Hi its been cooler here but the rain that was forcast did not come. Apart from a trip to Tesco, did a bit of ironing, and a couple of jobs in the garden, did not feel like going out. Freds not feeling like eating again so I suggested we cut out as much food containing fat as we can to see if that will help him. Hes going to the Dentist on Tuesday to get the crown on his tooth. We may go to have a look at the big renervation job thats been going on ages at the old nursing home, they pushed a invite through the door on Thursday. You seem well settled in Anne, its been so warm these last few days, you will be seeing it at its best with all the Spring flowers coming up and new buds on the trees. I bet all around your shed is looking nice Sue with all the new things you planted coming up. Bye for now L>M> xxxxx

Hello all. Did you alter the clocks last night? Craig did mine. ..... To be honest I meant to come on here last night but had a long, long nap i.e. 9 p.m till midnight. Then I got up & made drinks & supper. Craig did the clocks & blow me, I went off to sleep again till today. In total, well above the 8 hours average. I can't believe I used to have insomnia. ......... It was great to see you Sue yesterday. You did look well, & I hope you feel it. Well my cooker is so like yours in many ways, except the grill pan. Also I have one of those glass-looking covers when the cooker isn't in use. But I think bending is getting awkward for me, which may be due to being unfit & stiff legs. I think an exercise regime would do me good. Hope you sell it soon. I know you will, in fact. .......... Hope cousin Fred gets his appetite back. Sorry he is under the weather. Good luck with the tooth thing. ......... I may have forgotten to mention I had a filling in a tooth last week. I had to have an extra shot of numbing stuff. Most unusual. But with my knack of snoozing, I slept it off, so-to-speak. .......... Tomorrow I go to the G.P.'s for a meds review. I shall tell him about my long sleeps, which I kind of like, in a way. But it can't last I'm sure. Anyway, enough on that subject. ................ The weather here is cool, dry, & quite ok for anything except sunbathing. ........... Hope everyone feels well today.

It was good to see you yesterday, Pauline, you look very trim at the moment .. so maybe doing a bit more exercise would be easy? Some sort of stretching class would be helpful I guess ... .. I've been going to ones at Shapes sometimes cos they let you pay as you go there . . . but I do high impact that wouldn't suit you .. I am not sure what the rest of the programme is, but you can see it on-line .. they generally charge 4 quid a session .. www.stoke.gov.uk/ccm/cms-service/stream/asset/?asset_id=2320971seems they do more aerobic than stretching tho they do Tai chi on wedsnesdays .. that is very gentle! There may be other things going on in Bentilee .. worth a look around there?

Good luck with your GP review, Pauline ..
So is B on half term now, suze? I hope you have a lovely break together.
I'm off to help out at the museum but apart from that it's a quiet week, looking forward to roaming out and about, and doing some art work. Buying a new camera tomorrow, really looking forward to that - my little Nikon more or less gave up the ghost this last year
