Loving this weather, gives everyone a chance to get outside for while. Only as far as Sainsbury's this morning, but then might venture a bit further.
Dad, don't feel as though I can mention the car much, but I am very happy with it. Thank you.
Went on Auto Trader to get some idea of the value of our old Honda. Having found an immaculate one of the same vintage at £650 and with only 44000 on the clock I reckon ours is worth about £250 max. Ours has done over 107000. Still goes though! Need to get it scrapped or sold quite quickly, wonder how long the replacement registration documents will take to arrive?
Mum and Dad, I sent the V62 to the DVLA. I think you might still have to send them a little letter too. You don't need a form. All you have to do is tell them the registration number, make and model. Tell them the date you sold the car, and give them my name and address. Send it to DVLA Swansea, SA99 1BD
Hope everyone has a lovely day.
x

Here's something hilarious.. just turned the ignition on the old car, the starter whirred but the engine wouldn't fire up. Must be the effects of the heat. I'll try again later, don't think there is any sense calling the RAC to a car I'm scrapping.

Another warm day, the beach was packed today, loads of people in the sea. Some drama on the sea the big and small lifeboats were out so was the helicopter, dont know what the emergency was. Hi Karen good job weve got you to start of our new month thanks. Dad went for a ride round on his scooter when we got back from Wey. a bit disappointed that the tow path by the river was to narrow for the scooter, we used to go there alot when he could walk, never the less he enjoyed his ride out. Yes Mark just get rid of it, I will send off those details on monday. Bye for now L.M. xxxxxx

Mum, I can probably scrap it without a registration certificate, I'd just have to do like you and notify the DVLA. Anyway, I managed to start it up this evening. Pity about the path being too narrow.. do you mean there is a narrow gate or something? I thought that path was quite wide. Annoying, but if you can get close then you might be able to walk a bit? x

Hi y'all
Thanks Karen
Just back from a good weekend in York with my school-mates! B did another charity ride while I was away
Shame about the canal, dad ... I think they have gone out of their way to but narrow things at certain points on canals entries to stop motor bikers -- so we find some of the gates hard even with cycles .. those kissing gates are fine on foot but tricky with a bike and an absoloute non starter for a scooter or wheelchair .. .
B has made me curry for tea .. better go and take off my white cardigan!

With old cars the price is what someone will pay, I would not go that low on the price, initialy cos it sounds too banger-ish and there is still a year's motoring in that car ..
I would start to advertise at about 400 to and see what interest you get ...

Had a day in today, a bit to warm for trecking off out. Bruno came to stay he was very well behaved only barked when we left him on his own outside. I did leave the back door open but he wanted to play in the garden and would not come in. Pleased you had a nice time Susan. Bye for now L.M. xxxxxx

I have agreed a price of £160 for the car, a scrap merchant will collect it next Saturday.
Mum and Dad, was it just the dog you were looking after today? Is that because the rest were off to see their friend's yacht?
Susan, I bet York was really good in the superb weather we have been enjoying. I liked York when I went there with Mum and Dad and Julie as part of a mega touring caravan trek we did round Scotland. We stopped a night in York on the way home. We had some lovely holidays in the touring caravan. Some memorable for the wrong reasons, like the time a caravan wheel fell off when I hadn't tightened the nuts enough. A split in the wheel brace caused it to slip, and I didn't have the gumption to use another spanner. We were lucky that didn't end in major catastrophe.

Shame you couldn't find a real driver for that car ... but it is easier to sell for scrap, I guess!
York was lovely, tho seeing friends is the real point of the venture ..

No point worrying about a few extra quids for the old car. More concern to me is the fact our Child Tax Credit seems to have stopped when it shouldn't have done. We are entitled to it until Luke leaves school, so that's something to chase up tomorrow. Not that it's a fortune, but it amounts to about £500 a year.
Everyone OK? Seems a bit quiet on here recently.

hi all
been dealing with minor crisisisisisisis my end
the spare tv died, the washing machine decided to follow it, beloved got stranded halfway home so we missed the beer festival then we found the downstairs loo had sprung a leak and the carpet was ruined, fortunately the floor seems to have dried out and no major damage can be seen
new washing machine arrives today and I now have the bits to attempt a repair of the loo
the TV is going to the scrap heap though
all this between beloveds family staying for a week and my family coming this weekend
still there's worse off than us
morning all
