Well done Mum, French and Spanish. Or maybe Double Dutch, I'm a bit out of practice.
Hope everyone has had a pleasant day.

Karen, wondered where you were. I'm reading Transition by Iain Banks, think it's one of his non-SF efforts that you might like.
Everyone here is happy to be on half term, all except me that is. Work as normal. But am off on Thursday.
Car's booked in for its service and MoT next Monday, apparently we get a courtesy car for the day. Everyone OK? Hope so.

Hello all. Hope everyone feels well today. We here are quite well. ..... As far as languages go, I only know my own really. I never studied any other. However I would love to speak Italian for some reason. I have bought a little book of phrases & words for travelers as a taster to see if I could learn the Italian language. I have been told that some words are closely related to Latin so maybe there is a chance for me. You see, when I was a child the Mass at church was often in Latin, so some words are familiar to me. If anyone knows where I can get CD disc's to learn the language or of any local courses I would love to know about them. .......... Today it is lovely & sunny too. I have been out twice to town & got my 2nd wash-load in the machine & the 1st load is dry. ... I have bought 2 books from a charity shop. One about the language of cats, & the other is a biography of Karl Marx by Francis Wheen. So I can't say I am short of books to read. Mind you, I still have books I haven't read yet. No time to get bored then. Ha ha. .... Anyway, hope all is well.

Pauline, I reckon you should find some useful stuff in Waterstones or WH Smith. I had a Linguaphone Italian course once, it wasn't great. My opinion of Italian is that it's harder than French. Spanish seems easier than either. Wouldn't it be great to be able to understand all languages? All except Welsh, Esperanto and any other bogus languages that is. Good news for the Middleport (Burleigh) pottery in Burslem, Prince Charles's Regeneration Trust charity is pumping in some money.

Bye for now L.M. xxxxxx Ah I wasn't meaning the "bon anniversaire" post in this thread I was referring to these four threads Sea Piece: Calm Waters, Blossoming Almond Tree, Village of Gardanne by Paul Cezanne & Ophelia [blue dress] by John William Waterhouse by someone called cierlmeyrin which link to micaroo.com, and are registered to Michael Jackson No.234 road yuzhong chongqing, chongqing 400001 China they have 4 posts in total and I'd say they were all spam personally many apologies if they aren't I'm a moderator on a different forum and I see a lot of these sorts of post, they ring alarm bells with me sorry, I should have made that a bit clearer at the time
