hi I'm fiddling with the threads today! Instead of making the "what did you do today?" thread a mile long I will start a new one each month and archive the old one .. so daily news for today is we are going over to the shed and hoping to get on with the last few bits of the decorating, and perhaps we'll pop to manchester to get a few more items of furniture that we want the electirician has done his bit but there were snags on every bit of the gas man's job, so hopefully we can get that sorted in the next couple of days! needless to say Chris didn't do his bit while we were away!

Morning all. So this is the August thread then? So far today I have been to the town shopping for basic food stuff. ............... Yesterday I was a blood donor again. Also, son-&-heir donated at the session. It went off quite smoothly, but for some reason I couldn't quite make the usual amount up. I was told it was enough so they did get a fair amount. Craig had to give blood from his right arm, as for some reason a vein wasn't found on the left one. But we were OK. One man did bleed a bit & had to be dealt with & one young lady felt faint for a short while. Both were OK though. ............. I was told that my t-shirt was Ace & the young man wished he had it. It is one of a set of 3 Celtic design t-shirts. My best t-shirts I guess. ...... Well that's it folks. Just to say, hope all is well with y'all.

we stayed the night at the shed for the first time last night! exciting, haha, could hardly sleep, though new bed is lovely and new bedding is sumptuous ...
still no cooker, but we ate out last night and I made a rice salad to bring with us yesterday! Fridge is working fine, and we do have a microwave now too, so I can re-heat my coffee, what with that, and free wi-fi, what more does a girl need?
A wife busy painting in the background is the answer ... I guess I ought to get inovlved in the grafting too!

I went for a diabetic check with the nurse at the Drs. this morning. My blood presure was130 over 80 she said that was good. When I got weighed the nurse said whow youve lost alot of weight, I said yes I have lost just over a stone she said well you were 19 stone ,It was down on the computer I had been so heavy so goodness knows who did that but nobody it seems had taken any notice of the error. Its ages since i had a check up on my weight. Pleased you managed a night in your shed, that Chris wants a bullet up his vest what a dopey bloke.Hope you havnt paid him. Well it will get sorted at least its livable now, and you can enjoy it. good news about blood presssure, is that you weighing 19 stones, mum! HAHA but great if you are really losing weight .. Chris is taking liberites now, but the main thing is he has done the main things, the electirician has done his job, so we have a delightful set of lovel lights and power sockets ... now that we've got the right cooker from the supplier (what a saga that has been) the gas man can finish off and get us able to cook and WASH! we've got no hot water yet cos he has to run the checks etc when he does the boiler, etc .. he should be here tomorrow to finish that and the jobs chris has to do are quite small, and fiddly, which is probably why he puts them off .. he really should have got them done while we were away, but he never does anything without a supervisor .. the main nuisance is that he is supposed to be supplying aluminium for the walls of the kitchen, and for whatvever reason he hasn't got on with ordering that, so we've got to wait for that, but it is only cosmetic really we've been shopping for bins, and curtain rails today, ventured over to Trafford Centre, which is a hellish place, but does have lots of "home" type shops, so you can browse up till ten at nightm TEN AT NIGHT, at least it was quiet, but how do they manage it, really?

gawd, it is a horrible horrible place, all tha faux classical architechture and greek statues .. why the heck didn't they sponsor some interesting modern art if they wanted sculptures all over the place? I couldn't stop swearing about how horrible it was, tbh ... I have managed to never go there before, well once we tried it for five seconds and had to drive away, but I gritted my teeth and got on with it tonight a car already!! what sort has she gone for? will you be driven about like a lady of leisure now?

gawd, so busy shopping these last two days that they refused my credti card! It's happened before when I was shopping for the shed, too much spending too quickly sets off the alarm bells at the credit co, esp if you buy things from Toshiba and Bose, prime stuff for theives to use your card for ..
hey ho,

what a nuisance, but comforting as well ... sounds fabulous what you are doing suze, hope the little jobs are finished very soon and you get hooked up with gas pronto ..
We have some more people viewing our house this morning, staying out of the way and letting the estate agent do it ... pouring, absolute tigers and bears, though. Will that make a difference, who knows?
Congratulations to H for passing her driving test!

yes, are excited about finishing touches to the shed, and we already have hot water and a hob, he did them last night, but the heating is proving a bit more problematic!
