Yes, I never had a paid-for driving lesson.
I used to really value those hours dad and I had going around the streets of Coventry, ostensibly learning to drive, but mostly just having a good time together! Very precious.

Hello folks. It's passed my bedtime really but I'm just popping on here before going to bed. Craig is watching 'Match of the Day' downstairs. ..... We are all quite well here. I feel reasonably well despite my hernia to be sorted out & my G.P. app., on Wednesday to come. I have my medication review with G.P. & I need to tell him about my high reading for iron in my blood. It came to light at the blood donor session. I was able to give blood after all, but it seems my iron reading is high. ... I did a google search & it could be a few things, but I may be told to stop drinking alcohol. I don't drink very much but I do hope I can continue. We'll see. .... So sorry about the news of the eye operation cousin Fred. I do understand how you feel not being able to drive. It must be an awful blow to your Independence. Adding to the walking being more stressful I can imagine how fed-up you must feel. I hope you do manage to drive again, but if not, I hope you adjust well to the new situation. Getting older has it's pit-falls. ..... Anyway love to all & goodnight from me.

Good luck to suze's dad for the hospital visit, and I really do hope the treatment can help. Such a pity about the driving, I've enjoyed reading about the trips you take.
Was the animal programme the one about baby animals - breeding rare animals and saving orphaned ones .. it was wonderful, hope you enjoyed it. Didn't those baby elephants have a nice life?
I've been helping in a temporary cafe at the Museum these last three days, so we had a frozen beef stroganoff for tea with green beans and carrots from the Farmers' Market. There is a very good frozen cookshop in Wells, that does very decent meals at a reasonable price. If I was rich I'd buy most meals from there.
Good luck with your GP appointment on Wednesday Pauline

Hi Anne thanks for the good luck message. Freds in the hospital for the night. He was very flushed when he was brought back to the ward I think there had been a problem, because of the position of his kidneys. Yes thats the programme we were watching, I just love animal progs. really enjoyed it. Well I doubt we will be going far now that we will not be using the car, I think Freds trying to get his head round the situation, Freds had a car for always and its hard to think about not being able to drive. I may be clutching at straws thinking there may be a light at the end of the tunnel when he gets this next eye job done, but will have to wait and see. Bye for now L.M. xxxxxx

Hello there. Hope everyone had a good day today & feel well. ..... Well I'm glad I went to Dr's for meds review. It seems my cholesterol read at 5.1 & I'm an overall low risk so I can try one year off from that medication. It appears the high iron in my blood isn't excessive so I have no need to worry. It seems I've had my liver function blood test done. Yippee! So now I have a bio-feedback test to go through next Tue., Ward 71. I've had that twice before so I can predict the outcome. Then on Oct 26th I see my Consultant about my hernia. So that's my lot for now. ..... I hope cousin Fred ( of mum&dad) is recovering well from the eye op. & coming to terms with its implication. ........ Well for me I'm so pleased to be able to get off the meds as I can now indulge in some grapefruit juice. Yippee! There is a warning on the pack of cholesterol not to drink it. ............ Anyway I hope everyone is in good health right now.

We did go to Wey. on the bus yesterday, when Fred got home from the hospital. It was sunny here but pouring down at W. we got a bit wet so decided against walking some what slow to the Disability shop to look at electric trollys. We ended up having a rather naughty lunch you know what I mean steak and K. pudding pots peas gravy. I nipped into Tesco when we got off the bus and Dad came up home. Ive cut the lawn today talk about speedy Gunzalus I managed to get it done, not as good as Joe but there you go it looks better now. Dads seen a trolly in our local paper but we can not get up on our own to look at it as its at Kingston Mauward and its to far to walk, its probably sold now. Bye for now L.M. xxxxxx

Nuisance neighbours are always a bit of a drain. Ours make all sorts of odd noises and smells. The greasy cooking smells somehow come right through the wall.. And so does the thunderous crescendo of somebody thrashing a gong!

Tell the silly watsit next door you will charge him a pound for every day he had his wire fixed on your faccia. To be honest hes best ignored, hes not in the army now bossing chaps about, does he not know hes in civy street. We met some people from Lutterworth to day on the front at Wey.It was really warm today down there. We recorded Torchwood so Dads just watching that now.11-30. We went to town on the little bus that comes on the Estate, then got the number 10 down to Wey.only I had to get off on the way down I thought I may have left the gas ring on.Dad went on down and I dashed back to check . Well it was off what a wally, anyway I got the next bus down so met Dad in Wetherspoons. All this dashing around Im hoping to have lost loads of weight. The shelf is lovely, did they fix that in today. Bye for now L.M. xxxxx

What your mum didn't say was that we got to the mobility shop , and We bought a mobility scooter.
Big enough for me and big enough to put all the shopping in,with two baskets on, it front and back.
Your shelves do look great, nice to have the light shining through glass ornaments, always sets them of. lots of love Dad xxx
