Someone (Julie) told me that mice who chew cables can be dettered by application of Stop and Grow to the plastic .. (it's designed to discourage nailbiting in adults and tastes vile ) since our dishwasher has been ravaged by mice recently, I bought some of this stuff and when the repair man was here I quickly painted the internal pipe replacement with the solution should, really, have taken more care not to daub it all over fingers, cos nectarine doesn't work well with it ... got to be very careful to use a knife and fork for all my food .. it says on the pack Stop and Grow is resistant to hand-washing and you only need to re-apply every other day

yuk, stop and grow doesn't really go with much that I can think of
If our dishwasher were ravaged by mice I'd be extremely upset and so would the dishwasher, she doesn't like mice

Gosh Sue. Mice! How can you cope with that? When my cats were younger they brought mice in, & I brought in the Pest Control. I have a terrible phobia for mice. But they stick like glue to a property once they get a hold. And they breed like F***. A pregnant mouse can f*** your life up in no time. ............ I did get the Pest Control out for the Wasp Nest also in the roof-space. Gosh that was a mask job! ................... When my mate had mice she found out her neighbours had had mice months earlier & did nothing about it. So they had a terrible row in the street. It can cause a neighbour war to let the little pests stay with you. They go through the whole street. If you are keeping them, don't tell your neighbours for God's sake! .......... I'd better shut up now.

I partly blame my neighbour cos she puts bird seed down on the ground, notorious for encouraging rodents!

Do you want to borrow a cat for a week? Actually, one of the little buggers brought in some kind of UK ghecco (sp?) last night. I think I managed to revive it back to health and put it back outside.

Well Sue,I guess your neighbour has helped to feed the mice. they do go in search of food really. But now you have the problem that won't go away unaided. .......... In case I sound neurotic, due to my phobia, I'll expand a bit more on what I put in post. It is true that my cats did bring the mice in some years ago. Tess, more than Felix really. Only little field mice. I did shoo them out with the mice intact. Put the lock door over the cat-flap & keep them out till the poor little mouse died. Cats love to give little presents like that! But the time I got the Pest Control in was when I spotted a mouse walk out from behind the fridge. No cat in sight. Or at least, not a cat bothered with it. So the mouse sort of went in hiding then. The cats didn't help me out at all. I did need to be mouse free as there are lots of places to hide where only a trained person can get to. So I did get the pest control in. It may have been close to the time of the wasps nest, I can't recall now. But thankfully, my cats don't do it now. Bring them in I mean. Old age, maybe, I dunno. In fact, they tend not to go in the field at all.

I wish this wind would die down. I've enough resistance on my bike as it is (my less-than-light weight) without the added disadvantage of wind pressure!

I've been using an all purpose filler on the gaps in the caravan walls et, that the workman left here ..
I notice that the price tag in it says the name of the firm "Health and Beauty" ...
left wondering who has wrinkles so thick that they need a multifiller gun to deal with them?

Last night I visited my friend. I asked her to recap on the saga last year with the mice problem. Anyway, last year she had mice in her house & they chewed a mattress in the spare bedroom. She said the neighbours next door both sides has had mice. But one side in particular had seen it all as a joke. She had apparently found it amusing to see mice eating food from her dog's bowl. So when my friend knew that they had sat back for about four months doing nothing a terrible row took place.
So my friend had to get the pest control out to get rid of the pesky things. To be honest, she also has a dog. But the dog took no notice of the mice. That's weird!
Anyway, the problem has gone now. But not without work & expense. And mice are very fast breeders.
I told her that I knew someone with a mouse problem. She told me to say that it is urgent to get rid of them. Really urgent!
Well that's it really.

This is ever so random - but I just love watching Annie Lennox sing. She will be on the Strictly Come Dancing Results show in an hour.
As for animals - afraid the neighbour's cat is still visiting us via the open upstairs windows - we should be chucking her out instantly but must admit to letting her wander around and sit on the sofa. We don't feed her though. I still find myself calling her 'Murphy' by accident.

Hi. Just bobbed in here. To be honest Anne, I was wondering how you were getting on. Hope the house thing is working out well. ....... Just read my posts about the mice thing. Gosh it seems like another lifetime when I typed that. I mean, it seems much longer than only this year. ....... It is very therapeutic for you Anne to welcome another cat in your home. Of-course you won't need to feed it if it has a home. Maybe you will get a cat in the new home then? There are always cats/kittens who need to be wanted. ............ Well I'm going for a lie down now. Then when son-&-heir washes the dishes I will get up for a board-game. The gamer is 'Upwards'.
Bye.
