Snow for St. Andrews Day. Last of the month. ............. Tess, the female cat seems a bit unwell today. Think she has a cold. Felix the male cat has a sore ear, so I'll be cleaning his ear with salt water. .......... A day at home day today methinks.

Question for Anne. How is the house sale/move/etc going on? Bet this weather doesn't help.
I don't recall you saying why the move. Is it to downsize for easy maintenance? It's a big upheaval. Just wondered why the move? ............ Also, hope the wedding plans are still going well.

Hello Pauline, thanks for asking Contracts *may* be signed next week and potentially we could move just before Christmas - we don't really want to do that ... I'll post in the December News Thread when we have a definite date. Why the move? So many reasons! We hate living here to be honest. There are far too many reminders of unhappy times and neither of us really have friends in the immediate area. I have to allow 90 mins to travel 7 miles into Bristol!!, and the Bath bus comes once an hour if we are lucky. We are both getting older, and the house will need maintenance - a leasehold flat is so much easier because outside maintenance is done for you under the Management Agreement. On the positive side - we love the Wells area, the flat is 15 minutes walk from the centre of town where lots of things happen - a flourishing Art Group for me, lots of interesting groups to belong to including the Somerset Wildlife Trust (who have a reserve right by our flat), The RSPB and the Hawk and Owl Trust for my husband - we love the Somerset Levels, the possibility of a part time job for me, outlets for my own arty stuff, also good shops, good music in the Cathedral and also a jazz venue nearby, not to mention folk clubs ... all that plus a ground floor modern flat ... I can't wait!!

Gosh Anne! I hope is it all you dream of & hope for. ........................ My random comment for today is that active housework & chores has a bad reputation, of being mundane & boring. Well it can seem that way. But to be honest, it is a good way of keeping fit. And for those who have trouble getting to the gym in this inclement weather it is a way of keeping active. I'm sure polishing the kitchen floor on hands & knees will burn off a few calories. I hope this is a cheerful message.

Yesterday Craig & I went to be blood donors again. Also, while there, Craig had a test to see if he could donate blood platelets as his blood group is valuable for that purpose. Anyway, it turned out that his veins are too narrow to be a donor, so he cannot do it. He has been told that things may change when he is older. Anyway, the session went off OK.

Hope things go well for you Anne, one things for sure you will be cooking your first Christmas dinner in a new kitchen.

Went to Weymouth on the bus today it was sunny a bit cold but we enjoyed it. Went to Wetherspoons for a bit of lunch,it was not salty take my word for it that so called report someone did was not true, we do not eat much salt and can taste it in most chinese foods so much so we can not eat it. I dont think with all the pubs they have and expanding they would over salt their food, I think some one somewhere is trying to do a bit of dirt stirring. Got the salt info off a family member.
