I still haven't plucked up courage to quilt my mother's quilt. Tomorrow. Tomorrow.
(I promise a photo ..)

Yes, oddly enough After all the careful piecing and sewing together of the patchwork, you don't want to ruin it with wonky top stitching when you quilt the three layers together. The lady who taught me suggested a contrasting colour thread so I could actually show off my "lovely stitching technique", but I think I'll just machine sew along the seam lines - it's safest and quickest. Not being unkind, but you see this example looks quite wonky and spoils the patchwork

It's not my quilt Pauline - it's an example I got off Google images to show what I meant about the actual quilting spoiling the patchwork if it's not done properly. But thankyou anyway

LOL - yes I can see what you mean .. hard to do consistently neat topstich .. but is it any easier to shuffle a big piece through a machine feed? Or are you meaning literally along the straigh lines, and not do any decorative attempts on the top ..
heck of a lot quicker when you've got moving etc to think about too!

Well it *is* a Random Thread ;D
I loved M*A*S*H* - always identified with Radar O'Reilly.
suze - I bit the bullet and I'm just sewing along the seam lines, sometimes they wobble, but don't think my mother will mind. If it's going to be decorative it needs to be hand done, I think. No time for that!

Toby chose to stay at home , we said we would pop down to get him, but he was feeling a bit tired he had stayed up late watching Children in need last night, it really was on till late. Dads just watching Harry Potter on ITV. Think I will Pop and see Winnie.

GOSH Win. is always on a downer, not sure if i will pop over today. Rang Julie today they were going to athletics thing in Poole today. Went to see Barbara next door I think she would have liked me to stay longer but the ironing board was calling me home. Very dull today again so staying at home no fun by the sea when its cold. may ring you in a jiffy Pauline.
