It also windy here Karen. ... Hope everyone is well. ... Well my surgeon was Mr. Dawson. I was on the ward for 11am y/day & went for the op at 5:50. The site for needle had to be changes as the needle got stuck in a bent in vein in my hand. So it went on wrist above thumb. Op went off well seemingly. I must admit there was a fair bit of soreness/pain in wound. It controlled now with meds. I needed an overnight stay as I wasn't fit last night to come home. It was not keyhole surgery but low risk minor surgery. I must say, I feels great sympathy for anyone having major surgery. Gosh Sue how did you cope? A very brave lady indeed. I hadn't though of myself as nesh, rather as tough constitutionally, but I guess I'm not used to pain!! Anyway, I think I may try to get fitter by walking more. It's lifting I can't do. I got back home at 11 am. But the t.t.o's pain killers had to be collected a few hours afterward. Why don't they write them up the night before?.... Anyway, I will do a fair bit of reading while son-& heir gets down to housework. Methinks I will be tucked up in bed early with a book as I didn't sleep last night. But I feel upbeat today. Catch up with you all tomoss.

Hiya -- dunno how I do it, Poppy! LOL no choice, is there . the surgeon says the lung job will be more painful than the other abdominal work I've had, so I told him I am a wimp with pain and he says there will be patches, which I think means OPIATES ... yay!

Also trying to get organised before we travel south. Went to Morries this morning and not as busy as expected. Just had lunch and planning to wrap Xmas presents today and tomorrow but need to get some more wrapping paper so may make an effort to go to Freeport (all of a 5 minute walk). Got message from Cliff so hope to catch up later with you Sue.

:)Hi just having five on here before finishing tea off, all is prepared. Not been out today, did a pile of ironing this morning, and this aft. watched a bit of snooker. Dad thought his eye was able to see just blurry, but thats given us a bit of hope that his sight could improve. We did go to Weymouth on the bus yesterday aft. it was very sunny Dad did appreciate Julie taking time off work to go with him to see the eye specialist on Thursday, hes to go next week to see if he needs a op. or more lazer treatment. Sorry your heads feeling a bit muzzy :(but its not surprising with all you have on your mind, I hope by now its eased off a bit. Love you lots Mum and Dad. Bye L.M. xxxxxxx

Hope your muzzy head has cleared now Sue. Christmas is a lovely time, but maybe you are thinking it's nearer to op day. Mixed feelings I'm sure. ... I do hope the blurred sight in eye is a good omen for Fred. Sight is so precious isn't it. ... I've had my first bath since my op this am. It's a great clean feeling & most invigorating. I have cut down on the painkillers & am phasing them out altogether. Healing well. ... All cards written & most sent so just a lazy day for me today. I guess I'll have many lazy days which I'm not quite used to but I am learning. .. Hope everyone feels well today & positive.

Hiya --- Good to hear you are getting mended Pauline , dont get carried away too soon though, this is when you can hurt your wound!
We are now full-scale "doing Christmas"
I just spent ages wrapping a very few pressies, though they do look lovely now .. will start on the cards shortly, but I really want to do a bit of my craft project before it goes dark .. which will be in about an hour! Brigid is taking it very easy today, most uncharacteristic but I think she is exahusted, really ... not unusual for this point in the term for any teacher!
We did quite a bit of shopping and wrapped few gifts yesterday ... then took them up to share out with friends in Manchester .. we bobbed in to see Barbara too .. the photos of the twins are delightful!
Then we called in to see Kasia's new flat .. before the main event of James and Huw's Christmas party .. tho their guest list seemed to have been hit by ppl opting to stay in and watch Strictly and the X factor .. very strange! Finally we dropped in at Mand and Pete's for a few minutes to finish the Santa-round!
It is all good, but I really am struggling to decide about any future planning .. which is tricky ... hard to describe, but I think it is a sort of stress reaction, really ... I can only cope with a few ideas at a time!
Now there are lots of logisitics to think through about what is needed where since we are hoping to be mainly at the shed over Christmat plus thinking about the trip to Dorch next week ...
We are staying at the shed to ring the changes a bit, and B will be getting a (bargain) 12 day membership at my gym up there -- think I have said this already .. xmas will be mainly health-farm for us!

Julie made a phone call to me last night. I'd meant to call back, then didn't do. Sorry! Can somebody (ie Susan) ask her to try again? It's definitely a bit wintery now. I must admit that trek to Dorch was on my mind today. Don't know if I'm morphing! Anyway, hope the journey went well. And really wish I was there too. x

Crikey, the weather really is starting to be a worry now. Hope Susan can get home on Saturday! Anyway, in the meantime hope everyone is having fun in Dorchester.

Having a good time here .. Mum and I had a girls day out in Weymouth yesterday. It was bright most of the time, but a chilly wind.
I bought mum n dad a new tree and a few decs to get the festive spirit going here ... which looks very pretty ... Today the weather is a bit wet and windy so I think we will stay in until we have to go for Dad's appt with the eye specialist this afternoon
I've been to 2 dance classes with Julie and spent some time with the boys. Tonight we are doing an early class then going for an Indian meal with the lads ...
I have studied the weather forecast and dont really think it is looking to bad for Saturday, the temperature forecasts are not very low, yet, so I reckon whatever falls Friday morning will be gone off the main roads by Saturday.
