Hello!
mn'd - me too, I put the washing machine on yesterday (Christmas) as well! We went for a three mile walk into town via the woods and back - it was very quiet. The steaks were gorgeous. I've just turfed Minnie and MrMinnie out, we've had a nice day eating a three course meal and playing a board game. Glad you had a lovely dinner suze.
mn'd - no it's not Minnie's job - she and her friend made hamper goodies for everyone this year, it was a joint effort. The Christmas cake was a workmate's recipe - it has one quarter bottle of brandy and a quarter bottle of sherry fed into it!!
Short rest until New Year now, enjoy your evening everyone

Anne, I think your walk in the woods is something I need. Any exercise in fact, seem to have sat still for too long, now my spine is stiff. It's dry here, so might ride my bike for an hour or so. Early start tomorrow, Tracy has a scan at 8am.

Morning all. Yes walking is great exercise. The weather here is fine for that.
All my best wishes for Tracy tomorrow. And hope Mark, your stiff back gets better soon.
All's well here. My swelling is about the same, but no pain so I guess I'm healing OK. So tempting to lift what I shouldn't, but I have been warned not to. It's hard when so used to doing everything myself. Never mind. Craig is quite happy to hoover the carpets for me.
Have a good day all.

Pauline, hernias are common enough, so people assume they are no big deal. But it takes a few weeks to be fully fit. My bike ride was excellent. Proper invigorating, I was desperate to get out of the house.

Tracy's scan revealed nothing to worry about. We went early anticipating the usual manic hospital traffic. But need not have worried. Yippee, parking charges have been reduced. Christmas day parking was free, the token consolation I had.

Morning, we really enjoyed the show last night, a very surreal comedy. Pete put a lovely soup and buffet on the table before hand too, which was very welcome.
Today we are going to the gym and entertaining a friend here this afternoon. Then we are going to start packing up from here for the end of the season ...

Mum, sorry not to have called yesterday, steady stream of visitors made it impossible to get a minute, and we are also in major-pack-up mode I am awake in the night, which is not very helpful either! x

Happy New Year!
Nursing a cold here so I'll be off to bed early for a change, but hope everyone enjoys any celebrations they are having. I've just watched Alec Guinness in the Lavender Hill Mob, love the old Ealing comedies, and also enjoying the Dickens season which is going on. I thought the BBC Great Expectations was very good.
