Had a Christmas card from Mark H. today the envelope was O.K. but he had put the jutty out bit away from the sealed side so that perhaps helped, though it had been opened or the sticky wasnt much cop. anyway it got here.

Mum, poisonous tea sounds a bit unlucky. Not always a life saver then? Will Tesco be letting you know their test results? Susan, you made me smile with your sensible views on the language police. Pauline too, you were spot on.

Blimey, Sainsburys was manic. The shop barely closes yet people are stocking up for a nuclear winter. Apparently some were queuing at 6am. We might venture to Waitrose in search of the elusive Heston Blumenthal puds and (as seen on tv) buche. But it is so rainy, I might just stop at home.

Windy and blustery here. Not going out. I voted for Cavendish Sue I had not seen your blog saying vote for him very pleased he won. Dad didnt watch it he went to read in the bedroom while it was on. I was disappointed that young girl the one in the paralympics who is a swimmer did not get a award.just can not think of her name for some reason. Tesco was busy yesterday everyone buying food in like it was going out of fashion. Susan just found my little bag with the Turkish delight and the little heart soap how lovely, thanks. Mark wait till tomorrow aft every thing will be reduced, well the special Christmas stuff and perishables. I heard on the T>V.that every thing was reduced in Sainsburys today . Bye for now L.M.xxxxxxxx

hiya
oh mum, well done for voting for Cav ... did you know B stalked him in his hotel when the Tour of Britain was in Stoke? And Sam and I got his autograph too .. he signed my copy of his book, on the page where he described going up a local climb.. he is really lovely.
did you forget there was another little bit to your pressie! LOL .... I wrapped them soaps myself - we bought them in France, and the little bit of lavender is from our own garden. I thought it would look nice with your other few lavander things in the bathroom.
Have had a very busy day scooping up bargains at Cheshire Oaks. Brigid got jeans from the Levi shop, a dress from Phase 8 and sports leggings ... and I got a short coat made of really soft sheepskin leather with a big furry collar, it is gorgeous, B is calling it my Christmas present, though we dont really exhange gifts, it was a bit of an extravagance!

Oh, that is weird, I was sure I put lavander blossom in all of them ... We got some good bargains yesterday, and it was surprisingly quiet, as though the rain had kept ppl in, or there really is a recession on .. ? All is calm here, I popped out early on the great parsnip run ... I'd seen mountains of them earlier in the week and had no idea they would be the must-have-item of the season, but so it seems, there was none in either major supermarket by late afternoon yesterday! Can rest easy now ... I might do a bit of housework later .. this low sun shows all the dust!

Hello everyone - just dropping by to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and lots of love and luck for 2012. Your Christmas photos are lovely, suze and B, just had a look at them on the Photo Thread.
We went to the Wells Cathedral Carol Service yesterday, arrived 50 minutes before it started and the place was virtually full! We had to sit on emergency seats at the side, and couldn't see the 100 strong choir - but the music was absolutely lovely.
Our shops in Wells are busy, but not too chaotic. The Saturday market is doing a good trade though, and the veg stalls were particularly busy. S and M came round with our Christmas hamper, Minnie has made us chilli 'jam', pickled eggs, a Christmas cake, chocolate fudge and mince pies - and we have a present to open for tomorrow.
I'm glad Mark Cavendish won the SP of the Year, btw. He deserves it.

I have just finished the prep I am doing towards lunch tomorrow .. I have made a leek gratin and fixed up the makings of the salad I am doing (toasted the nuts, sliced the dates, mixed the dressing ... ) Brigid did the sprouts. We have got red ones! LOL bet they are more super-food than normal ones ! they were the only ones left .. the veg shelves here looked very depleted first thing .. not been back to seek out any bargains.
Hiya Anne, hope you have a great festive day tomorrow x
